Boilerplate

Funbase is an independent games studio making mysteries you can actually solve. Its first game, Five Suspects, is a series of illustrated whodunits: five suspects, one culprit, and every clue on screen. Each case is built to have exactly one answer you can prove from its clues. Funbase makes its games with AI tools and says so plainly. More at funbase.ai.

Say “Funbase” in text. The lowercase wordmark is for the logo only.

Logos

The keyhole tile and the wordmark. The keyhole is a door you open with your own reasoning, and, if you squint, a game piece.

  • Logo

    Primary, for light backgrounds

  • Logo, reversed

    For dark backgrounds

  • Logo, one colour

On signal, or wherever colour is limited

  • Mark

    Avatars, favicons, small spaces

  • Avatar

Social profiles; survives a circle crop

  • Wordmark

When the mark is already nearby

Room to breathe

Keep clear space around the logo equal to the height of the keyhole tile. The logo is never smaller than 20 px tall on screen, the mark never smaller than 16 px.

  • Don’t stretch, rotate, outline or add effects.
  • Don’t recolour the tile, or set the wordmark in signal.
  • Don’t put the logo over busy art without a solid backing.
  • Don’t redraw the wordmark in another font, or rebuild the keyhole.

Colour

Ink and paper do the work; signal is the spark. Use it for the mark and one action per view, never for long text.

  • Backgrounds, text

  • Backgrounds, text on ink

  • The mark, one action per view

  • Lines and surfaces on ink

  • Lines and surfaces on paper

Five Suspects carries its own palette, from its casebook paintings

Type

One family for the studio, a typewriter's cousin for labels, and the casebook's own serif for Five Suspects.

FIVE SUSPECTS

Voice

We write the way a good detective talks: clearly, kindly, and only about what we can back up. No invented numbers, no reviews we don't have, no playing-time claims until people have been timed.

  • Plain and exact

    Every clue is on screen.

    An unforgettable, mind-bending experience!

  • Fair, never smug

You can work it out. Here’s how.

Bet you didn’t see that coming.

  • Warm, not cute

    Argue it out over dinner.

    Unleash your inner sleuth!!

  • Only what’s true

New cases at 7 pm ET.

    Loved by thousands of detectives.

Five Suspects kit

The game keeps its own look: Georgia capitals, casebook paper, five identical numbered badges. Treat all five suspects the same in anything you make, and never show a case's answer before it's public.

The illustrations are AI-generated. If you show them, please say so.
